After an incredibly disappointing month of April, I was so excited to see all the cozy game releases that May has in store for us! I decided to do things a little bit different for this Upcoming Cozy Games post by including not only full release and early access games, but also demos – I’m always a huge advocate of trying a demo before you buy the game just to be safe! Since there are so many cozy game releases this month, as per usual, I’ll just be talking about the games that I am most excited for.
Dragon Song Tavern: Cozy & Adventurous (Early Access)
Out of all of the games scheduled to release in May, this is the one I’m looking forward to the most! Dragon Song Tavern: Cozy & Adventurous is a single-player cozy game that sounds like a perfect mixture of a relaxing, yet action-packed game. You’ll play as one of two siblings who decide to buy a seaside tavern and end up stumbling upon a baby dragon. The relaxing part of this game is managing your tavern, which includes gathering all of the supplies needed to run it. However, the most exciting parts of this game are all of the quests and even turn-based combat, just like Baldur’s Gate 3! The demo is out now, so make sure to give it a try before the game releases in early access!

Spray Paint Simulator
If you are a huge fan of PowerWash Simulator, there is no way you’ll be able to resist this game. Although Spray Paint Simulator isn’t made by the same developer, it will also be another game where you can so, so easily disconnect and relax by yourself or with friends in online co-op. Unlike PowerWash Simulator, you will be able to have much more creative freedom because you get to paint however you want; you can have clean-cut lines or you can make ridiculously abstract masterpieces. Ready to unwind? The demo is out now, so your relaxation can start early!

Farm Your Friends
Don’t let this cute-looking game fool you because in Farm Your Friends, you can either become a friend or foe. With up to 8 players online, your goal is to become the best farmer, but you get to choose how you will attain that prestigious title. Will you sabotage others by contaminating their crops with poison, stealing their crops, and blowing people up with massive bombs? Or will you work together and defend your farms as a team from those who want to backstab you? I don’t know about y’all, but one of those options sounds a lot more fun to me hahaha.

Ship, Inc. (Demo)
Ship, Inc. is a great cozy game for you to try out next month if you enjoy spending some time by yourself while getting in a good brain workout. In this game, you’ll play as an employee of a shipment company where you’ll be sorting, packaging, and shipping boxes all day long. However, it may not be as easy as you may think because there are so many steps that you’ll be in charge of: choosing the appropriate sized box, packing specified items, labeling the box correctly, ensuring the box gets sent to the right place, making sure that all items arrive at their destination in one piece, etc. I bet time will easily fly by while playing this relaxing and satisfying game!

Hotel Architect (Early Access)
Hotel Architect is a single-player hotel construction and management simulator that gives me a mixture of tycoon and Sims vibes. You’ll have three locations to choose from for where you want to build your hotel: Gothenburg, Santorini, and France. From there, the sky’s the limit! How many floors your hotel has, what kind of amenities you offer – it’s all up to you! I can’t wait to see how chaotic I can make my own hotel. Hotel Architect currently has its demo out now, so make sure to try it before the game releases!
